"I truly feel that they have my best interests at heart. I've grown with the company, been supported in new positions, and they've looked out for my family and me during the pandemic."

"I have never worked with such amazing people before. One thing that is special about Green Top is that everyone is genuinely kind—it almost seems like a pre-requisite to work here."

Create a food system that serves everyone and heals the planet.

Most of us don't know much about the food we eat - where it's from, who picked it, what's in it - and the truth is often grim. From factory farming to exploitative labor practices to environmental damage, Green Top was founded on building a new kind of food system that brings us all closer to our roots and prioritizes people before profit. For us, that means relaying on smaller, local farms. It means preparing delicious, nutritious food free of stabilizers and additives. It means treating our employees fairly.

We have big dreams for what this new food system will look like, but it starts with our dedicated team. We are a small, diverse team from all walks of life, and when we hire, we hire for the person, not just to fill a position. Our obsession with customer feedback extends internally too; we trust our employees and we believe in an obligation to voice dissent. That trust means we don't concern ourselves with typical corporate constraints. What we care about is the mission of making food systems better and finding the people who help us make that happen.

Food should always be delicious — and healthy.

Fresh, chef-made food is at the core of what we do, so we don't use additives or chemicals. Instead, we rely on traditional cooking techniques and fresh produce, often just a few days after they're harvested. We like our food so much, we eat it every day. For all of our employees, we offer a free family-style lunch at our kitchen.

Workplaces should be diverse, inclusive, and accommodating.

We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, and for qualified applicants with disabilities, we provide reasonable accommodation as we're able. For any questions about our application process, contact us at cs@greentop.farm.

The planet comes before profit.

Wherever we can, we look to minimize our carbon footprint. We track our food waste and divert leftovers to food pantries whenever we can. Our menus prioritize plant-based dishes, and rarely include carbon-intensive meats like lamb or beef. For smaller, local deliveries, we use electric bikes before our delivery vans. We aren't perfect, but we believe food can and should heal the environment, not harm it.

How can I apply?

We manage open postings through our Indeed page.

When will I hear back?

We try to get back to every applicant within a few weeks, but we are a small team, sometimes overwhelmed by the level of interest we receive for a position. So please, bear with us!

What is your interview process like?

After an initial screening of applicants on Indeed, we invite qualified applicants to interview. First, you'll have a quick telephone interview with one of HR folks about you, your background, and your role. This gives us a chance to get to know you a little better and answer any of your questions. From there, some applicants will advance to a second interview with one or two team members.

Depending on the role and the applicant, we may have additional interviews beyond these two rounds, giving you the chance to get a better sense of the business and vice versa. Win-win.

Where are you located?

Our kitchen is located in Long Island City, but depending on the role, where you work might favor. Certain management roles have no stationary office, and catering attendants will spend the majority of their time at the client site.

How do I know if you received my application?

When applying through Indeed, you should receive a confirmation email once the application is submitted.

Will you inform me when a role has been filled?

Yes! All applicants will be notified via email once the role is filled.

Do you have internship roles available?

We do! Every summer, we take on a few interns to work in every aspect of the company. If you're interested in applying, reach out to hr@greentop.farm. Our application process usually begins in March and internships typically last from early June to early August.

We're always looking for new people to join the team, so if you think you'd be a good fit, but don't see a position open, contact us!
